Peek at My Week: St. Patrick's Day

It's going to be a busy but exciting week as we celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Grandparents/Special Friends Day!  Oh and we have a talent show this week and the book fair is at school!  It's gonna be a GREAT week!

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day we'll be reading these amazing books.  My kiddos will get to respond to these books using graphic organizers of their choice this week. 

I'm also excited about this missing addend game I created for St. Patrick's Day. My Firsties have two options for this math tub... they can play the board game or just sort the cards based on the missing addend.  Choice is such a great thing!

During our Daily 5 time this week my Firsties will be sequencing sight word sentences.  They enjoyed this last week and worked real hard to put together all their sentences in the time they had at the station!

I'm also excited to introduce this spelling option tomorrow.  I was finally able to find Scrabble Cheez-Its this weekend so we're going to be building our spelling words with the tiles.  To add a bit more meat to the task the kids will also write a sentence for each spelling word.  To add some math in as well the kiddos have to add up the points for each of their words as well!
